Cauldron–Holding–Fire Over Wind

The cauldron’s usefulness is as much the empty space used to hold the sustenance as the kettle itself. Sharing food has bonded humans since the beginning of time. Hunter-gatherers cooperatively depended upon each other to bring in the bounty of food. In Latin caldus means warm. The security of food and warmth united their microcosmic society. In medieval days, the ever-present cauldron dangled on the wrought iron trammel over the fireplace, the meeting place of the home. Security, warmth, and sustenance bring great joy. When you sit in front of a flaming fire wrapped in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa in your hand, it creates contentment. Biblical writings state, “Contentment arises from the inward disposition, and is the offspring of humility, and of an intelligent consideration of the rectitude (moral virtue) and benignity (kindness) of divine providence.” The greatest misfortune is discontent, and the spirit of contentment brings good fortune.
